Choosing where to propose in Colorado can feel overwhelming—there are so many beautiful options. The best location really comes down to what feels most like the two of you. No matter what you choose, the moment will unfold exactly as it should.
Here are a few things to think about:
Do you want an epic mountain backdrop, or a place that has meaning to your relationship? Or maybe both. Are there any places that had significance to you as you started dating? Or is there a type of scenery your partner really loves? Or a time of day they love, like sunrise or sunset?
Some of the most popular Colorado scenic locations can be amazing and crowded—but there are also quieter spots if you’d rather have a more intimate moment. Think about if you're partner wants to have a more private setting for this moment. In general all the locations we suggest have a place that tends to NOT be a super high traffic area, but some have a higher level of privacy.
Are you envisioning a short walk to a viewpoint, or a hike to a secluded alpine lake? Ask yourself, would your partner like to be dressed up? And keep that in mind when creating a plan and choosing a spot.
Sunrise is often more private, while sunset can bring some beautiful colors. In general we suggest staying away from the midday hours for the best light (with an exception in the winter). But you also need to think about, when are you the most comfortable. Are you morning people? Does your partner need time to get ready?
