We found a small, seldom-used overlook along Flagstaff Summit Road for their proposal. This allowed Luis and Nicole to have an intimate moment. I blended in as another hiker and asked if they wanted a photo taken. While pretending to take a photo with Luis’s phone on a selfie stick and stand, I actually hit record to capture a video of the proposal while photographing the moment as well. This way, they could relive the surprise in both video and photos.
Afterwards, we drove about five minutes to Lost Gulch Overlook for portraits. The overlook offers sweeping mountain views and the chance to climb onto a large rock formation that feels like standing on top of the world. Because it’s a busier area, we used it as a secondary location for portraits, capturing scenic shots without the crowds interfering with the proposal moment itself.
