Dillon Marina Fall Proposal Story— Greg & Rachel

Living in Denver, the couple wanted a cozy mountain escape for the weekend, and Dillon Marina provided the perfect combination of easy access, lake views, and mountain scenery—all just a short 15-minute drive from their lodging.

Greg and I considered doing the proposal in downtown Breckenridge, but it was likely to be busy with pedestrians, traffic, and signage. So we chose a scenic spot along the bike trail near Dillon Marina instead. The trail is easy to access from a parking lot and offers lake views with mountains in the background, giving the couple a private moment while still keeping the scenery stunning for photos.

Greg wanted a location that didn’t require a long hike, knowing Rachel would be dressed up for engagement photos. The bike path along the marina was the perfect solution. While Rachel knew the proposal was coming, she was overjoyed and excited to be engaged. Greg timed the walk along Lake Dillon perfectly so Rachel could enjoy both the proposal and a dressed-up dinner in Breckenridge afterward without worrying about a long hike

It was late fall, so the temperature was a bit chilly, but not uncomfortable. I brought hand warmers to help them stay cozy during short breaks between portraits. This made it easy to enjoy the moment and capture beautiful photos without feeling too cold.

Greg & Rachel — thank you for trusting me to help plan and photograph your Dillon Marina proposal. It was such a joy to capture these memories for you both, and I’m so glad we could create an experience that reflects your love and this special Colorado getaway. Much love to you two!
