Nick and I worked together to find a quiet place where he could propose without anyone wandering into the background. At the far edge of the ghost town, the trail dips into a beautiful aspen grove—full of color, peaceful, and a little bit away from the historic buildings where most visitors gather. It was a wonderful spot for their fall proposal.
Right before dropping to one knee, Nick pointed behind her and said, “Hey, check that out—there’s a moose over there.” She had been hoping to see a moose on their trip, so it was the perfect distraction. As she turned to look, he knelt down. I hung back near the historic buildings at first, blending in as a typical visitor, then followed slowly toward the aspens so I could capture the moment from the perfect angle.
