Noah shared that surprising Lea — and having photos of the moment — were the two things most important to him. After talking through a few different options around Rocky Mountain National Park, he chose 3M Curve for its wide-open views and easy access. It fit everything he was hoping for: beautiful scenery, lots of privacy, and only a short walk so Lea could dress in a way that wasn't hiking attire.
To help keep everything a surprise, Noah planned a dinner afterward and told Lea they’d stop by a beautiful viewpoint beforehand. The walk to 3M Curve is short and flat, only about five minutes, making it ideal for a proposal that feels scenic without requiring a long hike.
Spring weather can be a bit unpredictable in Colorado, so we stayed in close contact leading up to the day and had a couple backup dates in mind. Luckily, we didn’t need them. When they reached the overlook, they paused for a moment to take in the view. Noah gave Lea a long hug — my signal to get into position — and then he dropped to one knee. The look of joy on her face was such a fun thing to capture with photos.
Noah had one more surprise planned: two of their close friends had flown in for the weekend to join the celebration. He didn’t reveal that surprise until after their engagement portrait session, which made the whole day even more special.
